The Winning Statue is…Alice in Wonderland
You told us what your most beloved statue is, now join us at Ice Festival on Saturday, February 13, to witness artists from Okamoto Studio carve Alice in Wonderland out of 6,000 pounds of ice. Celebrate the Conservancy’s effort to keep the Park’s statues and monuments beautiful all year round with an exhibit of tools of the trade, and, when the carving ends, the silent disco begins!

Winter Storm Jonas in Central Park
It was a busy weekend for Central Park Conservancy staff. Winter Storm Jonas brought 26.8 inches of snow to Central Park over a 24-hour period. We know this because the Conservancy takes the Official New York City Snow Measurements in Central Park for the National Weather Service.
In addition to taking snow measurements, during and after the storm, Conservancy Staff were out clearing paths so Park visitors can enjoy their winter wonderland in New York City’s shared backyard. Given the storm’s size and scope, clean-up has been an immense undertaking and resource-drain requiring the deployment of more than 100 staff. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the Conservancy’s repair work in the aftermath of the storm.

For Valentine’s Day: Window displays inspired by Central Park's flora
Madison Avenue Business Improvement District presents Platinum Jewels in Bloom, a 10-day flower and jewelry show sponsored by the Platinum Guild International in support of Central Park Conservancy’s Playground Partners. Stroll along Madison Avenue (between 57th and 86th Streets) and enjoy stunning window displays celebrating the beauty of Central Park’s flora. Platinum Jewels in Bloom will be featured in 18 premier jewelry stores and will run February 4 – 13, 2016.

Discovery Walks for Families: Art in Winter
Monday, February 15: 1:00 pm
Bring the kids to discover the secrets of some of Central Park’s most beloved sculptures on this 90-minute, hands-on exploration led by Central Park Conservancy educators and Discovery Guides. Space is limited; pre-registration required. Ages 5+. Families only; maximum of three children per parent or guardian; no groups, please.

Whisper Bench
Wanna hear a secret? Then get thee to the Shakespeare Garden’s “Whispering Bench!” Sit on opposite ends of the bench with a friend and whisper a secret into the stone—if your friend listens close enough they’ll be able to hear exactly what you said. But FYI, the “Whispering Bench” isn’t made for Whisper Down the Lane. If there’s anyone sitting between you and your pal, the message won’t make it. Read more about this Park treasure here.
