Sword Dancing Performance
Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (inside the Park at 110th Street between Lenox and Fifth Avenues)

Saturday, February 16, 2013, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Half Moon Sword Dance

Be amazed by dancers who weave ceremonial swords into complex configurations as part of this ancient winter celebration. Catch one of the two afternoon performances at the Dana Discovery Center at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

The Dana Discovery Center will be on of several locations for Half Moon Sword's annual New York Sword Ale. Teams from around the country show sword dancing as it was practiced in the farming and coal-mining regions of northern England, where the annual visit of the local sword dancers to the village homes was thought to guarantee good luck for the year.

Free. All ages. No pre-registration required. For more information, please call 212-860-1370.

Time: 1:00 AM - 4:00 PM
